James has been a Parish Councillor since 2021 representing Winchelsea Beach Ward of Icklesham Parish Council.
Currently a member of the Council’s Planning Committee.
Lived in Pett Level since 1966 and the last 38 years in Winchelsea Beach.
Had a long career in mechanical engineering, computer design and management, then finally as landlord of the Ship Inn, Winchelsea Beach until 2010. Since then, has focused on the local flooding and sewage issues before joining the council.
James is:
An ex-board member of Icklesham Parish Community Land Trust Ltd (project to build affordable homes).
President of the International (Uplands) School Alumni in Penang, Malaysia. His father being an original founding board member.
And has two married sons and a teenage granddaughter.
